Food 4 Kidz
759 million people worldwide do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That is one in every nine people on earth! (www.foodaidfoundation.org) You are invited to make a difference in the life of a starving child by partnering with local congregations and community members in a Food for Kids packing event. Food for Kidz is a non-profit organization committed to feeding starving children around the world by providing specially formulated, hand-packed, easy to prepare meals. This is our third year uniting as the Body of Christ to benefit this great cause! Our 2019 goal is to:
Raise $11,000 to pack 50,000 meals on
Wednesday, January 16th, 2019
at Dawson Covenant Church
Please prayerfully consider making a financial contribution toward this goal. Contributions can be sent to Pastor Kendall Stelter at Grace Lutheran Church 216 8th street Dawson, MN or dropped off in person at the Meal Packing Event January 16th at Dawson Covenant Church. You may also sign your church/community group to pack meals by contacting Pastor Lori Wold at 320-226-1547.
There was a long, blue jacket accidentally taken the night of the Thanksgiving Dinner. There is one similar on the coat rack in Grace Hall. Please check to see if you mistakenly took the wrong jacket.

Gifts at Christmas to Grace…
One of the main reasons we have the custom of giving and receiving presents at Christmas, is to remind us of the presents given to Jesus by the Wise Men: Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh. Frankincense was a perfume used in Jewish worship and, as a gift, it showed that people would worship Jesus. Gold was associated with Kings and Christians believe that Jesus is the King of Kings. Myrrh was a perfume that was put on dead bodies to make them smell nice and, as a gift, it showed that Jesus would suffer and die.
Christmas is really about a big present that God gave the world about 2000 years ago - Jesus! One of the most famous Bible verses, John 3:16, says. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
The Stewardship Board is asking that you respond to God’s marvelous gift to us by giving a Christmas gift to Grace Lutheran Church to balance the budget and allow us to continue our service to God. We will accept contributions until Monday, January 7th to be included on our giving statement for 2018. Thank you for all of your generous contributions during the past year.
We are looking for members wishing to assist in worship. These opportunities include: Usher, Lector, Greeters, Media Tech (2nd Service), Grace Choir, Praise Team, and Communion Assistant. Anyone wishing to share their talents and abilities or would like more info can sign up or contact the church office. For those who are already on our talent & abilities lists you do not need to sign up again. Thank you for prayerfully considering these opportunities.
Rice Hospice will be offering Healing Hearts Bereavement Support Groups for individuals who have experienced loss. Support groups are held in Clarkfield and Willmar. For more information call (320)231-4450.
Respite Care Providers Needed
Respite Care is the term used to refer to the act of leaving a loved one with special needs in the temporary care of anther party. Respite care may help children by lowering the stress level at home. Typical recipients of respite care are special needs children with mental health needs, developmental disabilities or physical disabilities, but it is becoming increasingly common for the elderly as well. Please contact LqP Family Services at 320-598-7594 if you are interested or have questions. Please specify the population you would feel most comfortable with. Thank you!
